Climate – the big challengeClimate changes will in the near future create ever growing challenges to both the public and private sector as well as the individual citizen. Flooding in towns, along streams and rivers rain and in low lying coastal areas will be more frequent. Lower the energy consumption and reduce CO2 Especially the local municipalities will have to deal with the tasks of adjusting to the new climate and change the way society consumes energy and emit CO2. The adjustment of society to the future climate, with lower energy consumption, is a huge challenge which we should tackle as soon as possible. So far we have only seen a fraction of the effect of global warming and we can expect to see much greater fluctuations in the climate and water levels in the next 50 years. This means that the effects of the climate, and the lower energy consumption, should be handled in this lifetime for both new and existing buildings and infrastructure. The responsibility for the climate does not lie with the municipalities alone A number of tasks, for example drainage, already lie with the municipalities. But the responsibility for flooding in the open landscape, coast guarding and the area surrounding energy consumption reduction as well as the emission of green house gasses, has not yet been placed. The municipalities’ role in the energy and climate challenge is still not certain, but it is clear that they will have a central role. CO2 reduction and climate adaptation We work with CO2 reduction and climate adaptation and have more than 100 years experience in working with water and nature. This experience supports us when developing solutions that will secure the human race and the environment in the future. | ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
